NASA's space shuttle Discovery ready for February launch

WASHINGTON, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- The space shuttle Discovery has been moved to a launch pad at NASA's Kennedy Space Center ahead of a February supply run to the International Space Station, NASA said Wednesday.

Seven astronauts are scheduled to blast off around sunrise Feb.12. Lee Archambault will command the mission and Tony Antonelli will be the pilot.

The mission specialists are Joseph Acaba, SteveSwanson, Richard Arnold, John Phillips and Koichi Wakata, aJapan Aerospace Exploration Agency astronaut. Wakata will remain on the station as a resident crew member, replacing station Flight Engineer Sandra Magnus, who will return home on Discovery.

During the 14-day mission, the astronauts will install an S6 truss segment to the starboard, or right side of the station and deploy its solar arrays. Four space walks will also be conducted.
