Incident: Azul E195 near Sao Paulo on Sep 8th 2013, engine shut down in flight

An Azul Linhas Aereas Embraer ERJ-195, registration PR-AYT performing flight AD-4165 from Navegantes,SC to Sao Paulo Viracopos,SP (Brazil), needed to shut the left hand engine (CF34) down due to the loss of engine oil quantity and pressure while descending towards Viracopos Airport. The aircraft continued for a safe landing.

An observer on the ground reported emergency services checked the aircraft, that subsequently taxied to the apron on own power. Engineers began to work on the left hand engine.

Maintenance identified the engine's oil pump was cracked.
