Conviasa acquires two A330-200s, to be deployed on Latin American routes from 2014

Conviasa acquired (05-Dec-2013) two A330-200s which will be deployed from 2014 on services from Caracas to Cancun, Montevideo, Lima and Santiago, as confirmed by Minister of Water and Air Transport Hebert Josué García Plaza. No further details were announced. According to the CAPA Fleet Database, the carrier's sole widebody aircraft at the moment is a 20-year old A340-200 which is currently in storage.

Conviasa launches Caracas-Panama City service and Caracas-Managua service

Conviasa confirmed (05-Dec-2013) the launch of daily Caracas-Panama City service with E190 equipment from 05-Dec-2013, and Caracas-Managua service from 07-Dec-2013 with unspecified frequency. According to OAG, Conviasa is the sole operator on the Managua route, while Copa Airlines and SBA Airlines also operate on the Panama City route, offering 3171 seats per week and 1491 seats per week respectively.
