“O índice do ano passado chegou a 80,6%”, afirmou Brewer.

WestJet Reports Record December Load Factor of 79.3 Per Cent

JAN 7, 2008 - 08:30 ET

Airline's December traffic results cap off a record fourth quarter and year

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Jan. 7, 2008) - WestJet (TSX:WJA) today announced a record December load factor of 79.3 per cent. This was accompanied by 15.2 per cent capacity growth, measured in available seat miles, and an increase in RPMs (revenue passenger miles) of 17.1 per cent.

Compared to the full year 2006, the airline ended 2007 with a record load factor of 80.7 per cent, full year capacity growth of 16.1 per cent and RPM growth of 19.9 per cent.

Sean Durfy, WestJet President and CEO commented, "Driven by a healthy Canadian economy and the superior value we deliver to our guests, our December traffic results capped off a record fourth quarter and 2007. Our exceptional guest experience has established WestJet as a strong brand coast to coast. I would like to thank our WestJetters for their hard work and dedication to making WestJet a great airline.

"These results are a strong springboard to 2008. Despite the rising price of oil, we are confident our plans for the coming year remain on track. We look forward to beginning scheduled service to our newest Hawaiian destination of Kona in January. We ended 2007 with a fleet of 70 Boeing Next-Generation 737s and believe we are well positioned to add seven more aircraft in 2008. With 16 per cent more capacity to be added in 2008, our network and schedule will provide even more choice and value for our guests."
